Vaping terminology refers to the various terms and slang used in the vaping. In order help the beginners to understand vaping easily, here in the following are some common vape terms and definitions.
Vape
It refers to the act of inhaling and exhaling aerosol, often called vapor, produced by an e-cigarette device.
E-cigarette
An electronic device that atomizes a liquid solution (known as e-liquid) to be inhaled. It always consists of a battery and a tank or cartridge to store e-liquid.
E-juice
A liquid solution that is vaporized in an e-cigarette or vape pen. Also known as e-liquid or vape juice. The main components includes PG (Propylene Glycol), VG (Vegetable Glycerin), nicotine and flavoring.
Disposable vape pod
Disposable vape pod is pre-filled and pre-charged vaping device that requires no refilling and recharging. It is composed of a battery powers a tank with e-liquid to produce vapor, which are simply draw-activated.
Vape Pen
A small, pen-shaped vape device that vaporizes e-juice. Vape pen comes with a compact size and friendly to carry out. Meanwhile, it is especially designed for beginners due to its simple operation.
Coil
A heating element, external the tank or cartridge, made of metal wire that vaporizes e-juice. There are variety material such as Nichrome, Kanthal, Stainless Steel and etc. Here are two types of coils widely used in all vape devices including disposable pods and vape pod system: regular coil and mesh coil.
Tank or Atomizer
A container with coil that holds e-juice. It has multiple capacity depends on the devices.
Mouthpiece
The part of the vaping device, also called drip tip, that is placed in the mouth to inhale the vapor. It can be different shape and some of them are removable. Generally speaking, the mouthpiece of disposable vapes are irremovable.
Nicotine Strength
The concentration of nicotine in e-juice, typically measured in milligrams per milliliter (mg/ml). Now there are freebase nicotine and nicotine salt that they offer different strength.
Cloud Chasing
The practice of producing large, massive clouds of vapor while vaping. The recommended vaping devices for cloud chasing is DTL products which features a resistance lower than 1 ohm.
